Forge FC Victorious Against CS Mont-Royal Outremont

Forge FC came out victorious with a hard fought 2:0 victory over Canadian Championship debutants CS Mont-Royal Outremont to advance to the Quarter-Final round of the 2022 Canadian Championship.

Forge FC had the first dangerous look at goal in the 24’. Christopher Nanco passes the ball into the box for Terran Campbell whose shot misses wide right coming off of his right foot.

The first goal came in the 34’ with Terran Campbell scoring off a header from Ashtone Morgan inside the box in fantastic fashion.

Just five minutes later, Christopher Nanco receives the third caution of the match for kicking the ball away out of frustration (39’).

Mouad Ouzane made a hard tackle on Ashtone Morgan and received the fifth yellow of the match (42’). Alessandro Hojabrpour received the last yellow before halftime bringing the total to six cautions in the half.

Forge FC continued to put the pressure on Mont-Royal Outremont, but it seemed to be quite a quiet second half.

With just four minutes added to extra time, Woobens Pacius scored a beautiful header inside the box with a cross from David Choinière (90+2’) to seal the match.

Terran Campbell received the Gatorade Performance of the Match with the opening goal in the 34’.

Forge FC’s Starting XI featured eight Canadian players: Triston Henry (GK), Ashtone Mogran, Dominic Samuel, Terran Campbell, Christopher Nanco, Tristan Borges, Alessandro Hojabrpour and Garven-Michee Metusala.

Head coach Bobby Smyrniotis brought on Kwasi Poku for Ashtone Morgan (64’), Woobens Pacius for Emery Welshman (79’), David Choinière for Chris Nanco (79’), Noah Jensen for Garven Metusala (79’) and Marcus Caldeira for terran Campbell (90+2’).

Mont-Royal Outremont featured six players in the Starting XI: Mouad Ouzane, Nazim Belguendouz, Protais Mutambala, Amadou Lam, Tarik Agday and Samir Morsli-Mahiddine.

Head coach Luc Brutus of Mont-Royal brought on Greguy Saint-Simon in place for Paul Mortas (61’) and Jean-Pierre Ritch-Andy for Mouad Ouzane (76’).
