Ottawa, Ontario The Canadian Soccer Association today announced the coaches who will guide some of the newly-formed national teams for the coming year.

As a result of the Blueprint for Success, several national development teams have been created, including teams at the Men’s Under-15, Under-16 and Under-18 level and the Women’s Under-16 and Under-20 age groups.
Earlier this week, Ian Bridge was named a full-time head coach of the women’s Under-19 program and the assistant coach to Even Pellerud with the Women’s World Cup Team. Dave Dew, Head Coach and Director of the Regional Training Centre in Victoria, BC, has been named the head coach of the Women’s Under-16 (1985) Team. He will be assisted by Tracy David, head coach of the University of Alberta Pandas.
Stuart Neely, the CSA’s Technical Programs Manager will be in charge of the Women’s Under-20 (1981, 1982) Team.
On the men’s side, the Under-16 (1985) team will be guided by Derek Possee, Head Coach of the British Columbia Soccer Association and the Director of the National Training Centre in Burnaby, BC. The Under-18 (1983) team will be coached by Ray Clark, the CSA’s Director of Coaching and Player Development. A decision has not been made on the head coach of the Under-15 (1986) team.
The Men’s Under-18 team will leave for France on April 5-16 and will compete at the Reze Tournament in Nantes, France. The Men’s Under-16 team will go to Northern Ireland in May and compete in an international tournament. The Women’s Under-19 team will hold a training camp in Victoria, BC from March 22-29 and will compete as part of a doubleheader against the United States on June 30 and July 2 with the Women’s World Cup Team.
