FC London wins USL PDL Championship

Forest City London wins 2:1 over Carolina Dynamo.

Forest City London SC won the 2012 USL PDL Championship, claiming the title over Carolina Dynamo in the Saturday 4 August championship match. Jordan Ayris scored the winning goal at Macpherson Stadium in Greensboro, NC in the 76th minute.

Down 0-1, FC London’s Carl Haworth equalised before Ayris scored the winner. 

In the playoffs, FC London defeated Thunder Bay Chill, Michigan Bucks and Seattle Sounders FC U23 to reach the championship match.

“It’s unbelievable,” said FC London SC coach Martin Painter. “I’m so proud of the players and what we’ve accomplished. It’s been a challenging season, we’ve had our ups and downs, and we came together and fought through adversity and put in strong performances these last four games, tonight especially because Carolina’s a great team, it’s fantastic.”
