Our players need to be exposed to the highest intensity level, and that is why this camp is important for us, said Pellerud. We will miss our three WUSA based players for this June event, but they are in a highly-competitive environment and therefore not a concern at this time. The camp will have tough, competitive practices with physical components and two fast-paced games against National Training Centre Boys teams.
Sharolta Nonen, Charmaine Hooper and Karina LeBlanc will miss the camp due to their commitments with their WUSA teams while Breanna Boyd is attending summer school at the University of Nebraska.
The camp also includes no less than seven players from the Canadian Under-19 Team which will compete at the inaugural FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship in Edmonton, Vancouver and Victoria from August 17 – September 1. They include Sasha Andrews, Candace Chapman, Kara Lang, Erin McLeod, Carmelina Moscato, Clare Rustad and Christine Sinclair.
