From the Prime Minister of Canada to Mayor of Edmonton, Canadians have celebrated and congratulated Alphonso Davies on winning the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League title. Davies is the first Canadian player to win the men’s #UCL title, joining three-time #UWCL winner Kadeisha Buchanan in elite company across the Atlantic in Europe.
Davies won three major trophies with his German club FC Bayern Munich in 2019-20: his second Bundesliga, his second German Cup, and his first UEFA Champions League title. He was also named the 2019-20 Bundesliga Rookie of the Season.
A historic moment – you made Canadians proud out there. Congratulations on the big win, Alphonso! https://t.co/nNoOtxdn3Q
