Canada v Mexico
Individual tickets to the Canada v Mexico Women’s National Team Bronze Medal celebration match on 4 February 2017 in Vancouver are now on sale to the public. Complete ticket information can be found at CanadaSoccer.com/Tickets.
The match will be a celebratory homecoming for Canada’s soccer heroes, after they became the first team in over a hundred years to repeat a podium finish at a summer Olympics. Having won all but one of its games at the Rio Olympics, Canada has risen in the FIFA Coca-Cola Women’s World rankings to a best-ever fourth overall in the world.
With over 5,000 tickets already sold during the group pre-sale window, the match in February is certain to be a popular gift idea for the holiday season.
February’s match will be Canada’s Women’s National Team’s first time back at BC Place since placing sixth at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™.
“Building off the tremendous success of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™, we are thrilled to be bringing this wonderful team back to play in front of a Canadian audience,” said Peter Montopoli, Canada Soccer General Secretary. “Coming off the heels of historical back-to-back bronze medal finishes, this match will be a celebration of these players, but also of the fans who have been on this wonderful journey with Canada Soccer.”
Canada Soccer Women’s National Team Captain, Christine Sinclair, who netted the bronze medal winning goal in her 250th international appearance at the Rio Olympics, will be one of the players who will truly be playing at home on February 4th.
“Being from Burnaby, I can’t wait to play in front of my friends and family and celebrate our bronze medal from Rio,” said Sinclair. “It will be our first game at home since then and we want to enjoy it with our fans, and put on a show for them. The support we receive from Canada is overwhelming.”
“Over 54,000 people came out to see Canada take on England at Canada 2015 in BC Place,” added Montopoli. “We are really excited to return to Vancouver, where many of our players train and call home, and share this celebration of Canadian soccer.”
Tickets to the match start as low $20 (plus applicable fees) and are available via Ticketmaster.ca by phone at 1.855.985.5000 and in person at the BC Place Box Office.
